David Mazouz (born February 19, 2001) is an American actor, known for his role as mute Jacob "Jake" Bohm in the TV series Touch. He was cast as a young Bruce Wayne in FOX's TV series Gotham based on theDC Comics character created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane.


Mazouz started his career in commercials opposite of Kiefer Sutherland at age eight. In 2012, Mazouz landed the role of mute Jacob "Jake" Bohm in the TV seriesTouch. Mazouz has acted in several television series including Mike & MollyThe Office, and Criminal Minds. Mazouz also appeared in the ABC show "Private Practice" as the adopted brother of Betsy.

In 2014, Mazouz landed his biggest role to date as Bruce Wayne in Fox's TV series Gotham. By coincidence, his birthday, 19 February, and that of his character, Bruce Wayne, are the same.

Personal life

Mazouz was born in Los Angeles, California, to Rachel, a psychotherapist, and Michael Mazouz, a physician. He has a sister, Rebecca. He is from a Sephardi Jewishfamily, and celebrated becoming a Bar Mitzvah at age 13. His father is from Tunisia, and his mother was born in the U.S., to parents from Greece. Mazouz loves movies, writing lyrics, learning guitar, singing, dancing, and acting. He is fascinated with geography and maps.
